An Invitation (!)

I was just on my way to meet with Rupert for the final time when I was told that a message had been delivered to me at the front desk. I took it, and I discovered an ‘invitation’ in two documents. Yet strangely about this invitation is I am at a loss to know where to go. And most strangely, I am led to believe that while the invitation once told me where I was supposed to go, such information has been forcibly removed, as you shall see when you observe their pictures:

Whoever sent it to me did not wish me to know; however from the information provided the sender appeared to wish me to find out. Unfortunately I am about to head out to meet with Rupert Bingley to confront him about his father, and I scarce have time to figure out the location myself. If you, however, can figure it out in my absence, please tell me with great haste and however you can!

Thank you all and wish me luck against Rupert!

  1. Greetings, Mr. Holmes! I’m been following your blog for some time now, and have become quite interested in your endeavours. When you posted the partial letter you received, my curiosity was piqued, and I immediately set about to discover the location indicated by the note.

If my research is correct, it refers to the Plaza Hotel in fair New York City. This hotel overlooks Central Park, and was host to the famous Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball in 1966, which was attended by both Frank Sinatra and Mia Farrow. In addition, its architectural style is that of the late 19th and 20th century Revivals. It is there that I believe this event will take place.

  2. Mr. Holmes, the event to which the invitation you’ve received may be attended by Monsieur Poirot, as well (due to an unconnected case). Perhaps you can put aside you differences to bring Rupert to justice.

I will check to confirm it (and alert Monsieur Poirot), but keep that in mind.
